In 2025, we’re going bigger with Scout Quest — here’s what’s new:
MORE DATA FOR BETTER REACTIVATION TARGETING:
In recent rounds of Scout Quest, we’ve relied heavily on recent email clicker data to define who is “active” on email files. We’re now going to be collecting opener data as well to broaden our targeting options.
Why? Well, we had previously stopped using opener data when Apple first announced its major privacy changes in 2021. iOS started sending signals — “machine opens” — that people were opening emails even if they didn’t. Opener data was a lot less trustworthy.
Now, we’re adding opener data back into the co-op because we recognize that opener data is still completely valid for identifying when people are using their email accounts. And it means that we’ll be able to go MUCH wider in our reactivation targeting than we have in the past.
GOING DEEPER INTO DONOR FILES:
A hot topic of conversation right now is how groups can reactivate past Trump-resistance donors from his first term (and for some groups, COVID donors!). In the past, our co-op has included five years of donation history.
To accommodate these requests, we’re going to be digging deeper into donor files — a full 10 years — so that we can identify the back 10 years in our donation history requests.
NEW FILE ANALYSIS:
If you participate in Scout Quest, we’ll provide you with a complementary analysis of any special cohort you’d like us to dig deeper into. Let’s pick — for example, a cohort of lapsed Trump donors on your file. We’ll match your file to our database and give you key intelligence back on how those individuals have engaged with your organization — as well as other groups in the co-op.

NEED MORE REASONS TO PARTICIPATE? HOW ABOUT RESULTS:
